See copy of Fire Department letter attached to returned plans. Copy of letter mailed to owner and applicant. All structures require the installation of an automatic fire sprinkler system throughout all portions of the building Classification 13. The automatic fire sprinkler systems shall be connected to the existing fire alarm system. The alarm shall be supervised by an approved Central Proprietary, or Remote Station or a local alarm which will give an audible signal at a constantly attended location. Sprinkler system plans, calculations will be submitted directly to the Fire Department or authority having jurisdiction.(3 sets) If sprinkler system underground piping is installed by someone other than the sprinkler contractor, separate plan check, fee and inspections will be required. The plans shall comply with the UNDERGROUND FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM INSTALLATION POLICY HANDOUT. The fire department will not conduct field inspections of the sprinkler system until the underground piping plans have been submitted, approved and an installation permit has been issued. The location of the Fire Department connection and fire hydrant are to be at the rear of the building. Exact location to be determined by an onsite meeting with Aptos/La Selva Fire Department, Soquel Creek Water Department and the underground pipe designer. Provide key for Knox Box. Plan check is based upon plans submitted to this office. Any changes or alterations shall be re-submitted for review prior to construction. 24 hour minimum notice is required prior to any inspection and/or test. Plan checking fees are due and payable at this time. Note: As a condition of submittal of these plans, the submitter, designer and installer certify that these plans and details comply with applicable Specifications, Standards, Codes and Ordiances, agree that they are solely responsible for compliance with applicable Specifications, Standards, Codes and Ordinances, and further agree to correct any deficiencies notes by this review, subsequent review, inspection or other souce, and, to hold harmless and without prejudice, the reviewer and reviewing agency.
