We have reviewed plans for the above subject project. THE PLANS HAVE BEEN DENIED.
Please have the DESIGNER add appropriate NOTES and DETAILS showing this information and RESUBMIT plans, VIA COUNTY, with an annotated copy of this letter.
NOTE on the plans that these plans are in compliance with California Building and Fire Codes (2010) as amended by the Central Fire Protection District.
NOTE, on the plans, the required FIRE FLOW and the available FIRE FLOW. This information can be obtained from the water company upon request.
NOTE ON PLANS: New/upgraded hydrants, water storage tanks, and/or upgraded roadways shall be installed PRIOR to and during time of construction (CFC 508.5). An additional fire hydrant will be required to be installed in front of building “B” on Soquel Dr. within 40’ of the FDC. It is recognized that there is a fire hydrant across Soquel Dr. from this development.
NOTE The FDC/PIV shall be labeled with the address of the building that it serves, with 2” peal and stick plastic reflective numbers.
NOTE on the plans that the designer/installer shall submit two (2) sets of plans, calculations, and cut sheets for the automatic sprinkler system to this agency for approval. Installation shall follow our guide sheet. Cut sheets shall include, but not limited to piping, valves, gauges, and sprinkler heads.
SHOW on the plans DETAILS of compliance with the District Access Requirements outlined on the enclosed handout. The roadway(s) are required to be designated as fire lanes, and painted with a red curb with FIRE LANE NO PARKING in contrasting color every 30 feet on the top of the red curb. If the roadway is 27’ or less, both sides of the street/roadway shall be painted, 35’ and down to 28’ in width, the roadway curbs shall be painted on one side, and 36’ and wider no red curb is required. All cul-de-sacs shall be fire lane, red curbed.
SHOW location of fire extinguishers.
SHOW where address numbers will be posted and maintained, plainly visible from the street. Numbers shall be a minimum of four (4) inches in height and of a color contrasting to their background.
SHOW location of Knox Box and key.
The job copies of the building and fire systems plans and permits must be on-site during inspections.

Based upon a review of the plans submitted, District requirements appear to have been met, and PLANS ARE APPROVED FOR PERMIT.
The job copies of the building and fire system plans and permits must be on-site during inspection.
Upon completion of the above listed requirements please call the Fire Prevention Division to set up an appointment for an inspection. You will be asked for an address and Assessors Parcel Number (APN). A MINIMUM OF 48 HOURS NOTICE to the fire department is required prior to inspection.
Submit a check in the amount of $4804.00 for this particular plan check, made payable to Central Fire Protection District. INVOICE MAILED TO OWNER OF RECORD. Other fees may be incurred. Please contact the Fire Prevention Secretary for total fees due for your project. Fire District fees must be paid and a receipt for District fees must be presented to the County Planning Department before Building Permit issuance.
