We have reviewed plans for the above subject project.  THE PLANS HAVE BEEN DENIED.

 

Please have the DESIGNER add appropriate NOTES and DETAILS showing this information and RESUBMIT plans, VIA COUNTY, with an annotated copy of this letter.

 

NOTE on the plans that these plans are in compliance with California Building and Fire Codes (2010) as amended by the Central Fire Protection District.

 

NOTE on the plans construction classification as determined by the building official and outlined in Part IV of the California Building Code.

 

NOTE on the plans the occupancy classification as determined by the building official and outlined in Part III of the California Building Code.

 

NOTE on plans whether building is to be SPRINKLERED or NON-SPRINKLERED as determined by Chapter 3 of the 2007 California Building Code and by District requirements.

 

The FIRE FLOW requirement for the subject property is 1500 gallons per minute.

 

NOTE, on the plans, the required FIRE FLOW and the available FIRE FLOW. This information can be obtained from the water company upon request.

 

SHOW on the plans a public fire hydrant, type and location, meeting the minimum required fire flow for the building, within 150 feet of any portion of the building.

 

NOTE on the plans occupancy load of each area. Show where occupancy control signs will be posted.

 

NOTE on the plans requirements for other fire extinguishing systems (range hoods, spray booths, etc.).

 

NOTE on the plans the hood and duct fire extinguishing system is to be in compliance with U.L. 300 standards.

 

SHOW the location of the “K” fire extinguisher on the plans within 35 feet of all cooking equipment that is protected by the extinguishing system(s).

 

SHOW location of fire extinguishers.

 

SHOW Occupant Load(s) and an Exiting Plan.

 

SHOW location of exit signs.

 

SHOW where the address numbers will be posted and maintained, plainly visible from the street.  Numbers shall be a minimum of four (4) inches in height and of a color contrasting to their background.

 

SHOW location of Knox Box and key.

 

NOTE roof coverings to be no less than Class "B" rated roof.

 

The job copies of the building and fire systems plans and permits must be on-site during inspections.

Based upon a review of the plans submitted, District requirements appear to have been met, and PLANS ARE APPROVED FOR PERMIT.

 

The job copies of the building and fire system plans and permits must be on-site during inspection.

 

Submit a check in the amount of $ 444.90 for this particular plan check, made payable to Central Fire Protection District.  INVOICE MAILED TO OWNER OF RECORD.  Other fees may be incurred.  Please contact the Fire Prevention Secretary for total fees due for your project.  Fire District fees must be paid and a receipt for District fees must be presented to the County Planning Department before Building Permit issuance.

 

Upon completion of the above listed requirements please call the Fire Prevention Division to set up an appointment for an inspection.  You will be asked for an address and Assessors Parcel Number (APN).  A MINIMUM OF 48 HOURS NOTICE to the fire department is required prior to inspection.
