Review No:1 1. Please state on the plans whether this facility is licensed by the Department of Public Health. If so, it is an OSHPD 3 facility and the more restrictive requirements apply. 2. When the adjusted construction cost does not exceed the current valuation threshold of $143,303, accessibility compliance for existing features shall be provided; but in no case shall the cost of compliance be less than 20 percent of the adjusted construction cost of alterations, structural repairs or additions. The adjusted construction cost of alterations, structural repairs or additions shall not include the cost of alterations to path of travel elements required to comply with Section 11 B-202.4.
In choosing which accessible elements to provide, priority should be given to those elements that will provide the greatest access in the following order:
1. An accessible entrance;
2. An accessible route to the altered area;
3. At least one accessible restroom for each sex;
4. Accessible telephones;
5. Accessible drinking fountains; and
6. When possible, additional accessible elements such as parking, storage and alarms.

The areas that may need work are at the existing bathrooms, as the code has changed to require a minimum 60” clearance from the wall nearest the water closet to any obstruction (not including the water closet). The lavies may be moved to provide this clearance. If this clearance is already provided, it appears the accessible parking spaces may be separated to disperse the parking to the multiple building entrances. [CBC 11B- 604.3 and 11B-208.3.1]
