Per the County Of Santa Cruz design criteria required detention volume determinations shall be based on all net new impervious area, both on-site and off-site, resulting from the proposed project. Pervious areas shall not be included in detention volume sizing (an exception may be made for incidental pervious areas less than 10% of the total area. =4th=Review comments=G_V=7/22/2008====== 1. Provide a construction detail for the orifice restrictor. Include elevations as necessary to assure proper construction. 2. Provide invert/inlet outlet elevations for the drain inlets and detention basin. 3. The inlet(s) leading up to the detention system should have a sedimentation barrier. Please note on the plan. A civil engineer has to inspect the drainage improvements on the parcel and provide public works with a letter confirming that the work was completed per the plans. Upon approval of the project a hold will be placed on the permit to be released once a satisfactory letter is received. This applies to new SFD applications or projects under review. Please call the Dept. of Public Works, Stormwater Management Section, from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon if you have questions. =======3RD REVIEW COMMENTS G.VARGAS==2/4/2008============== Per the County Of Santa Cruz design criteria required detention volume determinations shall be based on all net new impervious area, both on-site and off-site, resulting from the proposed project. Pervious areas shall not be included in detention volume sizing (an exception may be made for incidental pervious areas less than 10 % of the total. On-site drainage systems, other than the detention facility, shall be designed to carry any off-site drainage entering the site from adjacent parcels. This off-site drainage shall bypass the on-site detention facility so that the storage volume is used only for the additional runoff generated by the new development. 3. Provide a construction detail for the proposed v-ditch crossing the proposed driveway. Note: If the v-ditch is existing, show on plan how the driveway will conform with existing road side improvements. Please call the Dept. of Public Works, Stormwater Management Section, from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon if you have questions. ================END OF 3RD REVIEW COMMENTS============================== ===============2ND REVIEW COMMENTS 8/3/07 TDR================== Previous comments have not been addressed completely. Please address the following. 1. Show the drainage area, upstream of the subject parcel and demonstrate cumulatively how much runoff drains towards proposed retaining wall? And clarify how down stream properties will be protected in concern of erosion control, land slides and other hazardous conditions. 2. Please show on the plans the drainage features associated with the proposed retaining wall east of the building pad. 3. Submit a letter from the geotechnical engineer stating that retention is not feasible for this site. 4. Detention system and orifice diameter calculation should be consistent with the Santa Cruz County Design Criteria. The orifice calculation should take into account the type of orifice and its associated coefficient. 5. From the plans it looks like runoff generated by the proposed concrete driveway is being directed to the street this is generally inconsistent with county efforts to hold runoff to predevelopment rates. If feasible the driveway shall be cross-sloped to promote sheet flow to a non-erosive vegetated area prior to the runoff being released beyond the property line. Note: - Projects are required to maintain predevelopment runoff rates where feasible. Mitigating measures should be used on-site to limit increases in post-development runoff leaving the site. Best Management Practices should be employed within the development to meet this goal as much as possible. Such measures include pervious or semi-pervious pavements, runoff surface spreading, discharging roof and driveway runoff into landscaping, etc. Please call the Dept. of Public Works, Storm Water Management Section, from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon if you have questions. ====================================================================== XX 1ST DRAINAGE REVIEW COMMENT -11/09/06-LBD XX Plans must address surface runoff concerns prior to building permit approval. Please resubmit plans which address the following drainage comments: 1) Please provide calculations which support infiltration pit sizing. 2) Please clarify how upslope surface runoff will be controlled and discharged from wall. Are you proposing for runoff to cascade over wall or are you planning to put in a swale at the top of the wall to carry runoff to an appropriate point of release? 3) Infiltration facilities will overflow in larger storm events. This is increasingly true with decreases in soil permeability and practical structure size limitations. This is one reason an adequate overflow path must be addressed for the proposed retention structures. Drainage plan should show added details for the off-site routing path, as well as provide evidence that it has adequate capacity along its full length to the point of safe disposal described. More information regarding drainage requirements is now available at the following internet address: http://sccounty01.co.santa-cruz.ca.us/planning/brochures/drain.htm For questions regarding this review the Public Works drainage staff is available 8:00-12:00 Monday through Friday.Review No:4 , ALUS DESCRIPTION := DPW DRAINAGE
