Please add the appropriate NOTES, DETAILS and INFORMATION on your plans and RESUBMIT with an annotated copy of this letter. All changes to drawings will require "clouding of the change". NOTE on the plans “these plans are in compliance with California Building and Fire Codes (2016 edition) and Aptos/LaSelva Fire Protection District Amendments.” NOTE on the plans “the FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEM drawings must be prepared and submitted for approval by a California State Licensed Contractor (Class A, or C-16) meeting the requirements of NFPA-13, “Standard for the Installation of Fire Sprinkler Systems”. Designer/installer shall submit two (2) sets of plans and calculations to this agency for approval.” NOTE on the plans “the fire alarm designer/installer shall submit two (2) sets of plans and calculations for the Fire Alarm System to this agency for approval.” ONLY one exterior door may have a deadbolt. Suggest that door D2 become the emergency EXIT and that the locking/latching hardware be changed out to panic hardware. Door D1 can remain as shown with the sign above this door stating “THIS DOOR TO REMAIN UNLOCKED WHILE OCCUPIED as noted in Key Notes and in the plan. CORRECT Fire Note #2 on page A-1.0A SHOW on the floor plan, location of Class “K” fire extinguishers for use in kitchen. SHOW on the floor plan, location of fire extinguishers. NOTE on the plans “building numbers shall be provided. Numbers shall be a minimum of six (6) inches in height on a contrasting background and visible from the street. Where numbers are not visible from the street, additional numbers shall be installed on a directional sign at the property driveway and the street.” SHOW location of KNOX Key Box. NOTE on the plans” the job copies of the building and fire systems plans and permits must be on-site during inspections.” Note: As a condition of submittal of these plans, the submitter, designer and installer certify that these plans and details comply with applicable Specifications, Standards, Codes and Ordinances, agree that they are solely responsible for compliance with applicable Specifications, Standards, Codes and Ordinances, and further agree to correct any deficiencies noted by this review, subsequent review, inspection or other source, and, to hold harmless and without prejudice, the reviewer and reviewing agency.

Based upon a review of the plans submitted, District requirements appear to have been met, and PLANS ARE APPROVED FOR PERMIT.

 

The job copies of the building and fire system plans and permits must be on-site during inspection.

 

Submit a check in the amount of $805.50  for this particular plan check, made payable to:

 

? Central Fire Protection District

? Aptos/La Selva Fire Protection District 

 

INVOICE MAILED TO OWNER OF RECORD.  A Late Fee may be added to your plan check fees if payment is not received within 30 days of the date of this letter.  Please contact the Community Risk Coordinator for total fees due for your project.  Fire District fees must be paid and a receipt for District fees must be presented to the ?County Planning Department or ?City of Capitola before Building Permit issuance.

 

Upon completion of the above listed requirements please call the Community Risk Division to set up an appointment for an inspection.  You will be asked for an address and Assessors Parcel Number (APN).  A MINIMUM OF 48 HOURS NOTICE to the fire department is required prior to inspection.
