This review was based on plans submitted for the subject project titled The Quiroz Residence prepared Studio 14 dated 09-11-2020.
Corrections required: 1. A previous structure was demolished at this parcel and the existing sewer lateral was abandoned under permit SS-141113. Clarify whether the existing sewer lateral shall be re-used or if a new connection to the sewer main shall be installed.
2. If the existing sewer lateral is to be reused, then per SCCSD District Code section 7.04.375.A.3, a video inspection of the existing sewer lateral must be performed PRIOR to issuance of a building permit. Video inspections must be conducted by a licensed plumber and uploaded for county review. If repairs are required, the applicant will have two options. Either: • Secure a separate sewer lateral repair permit (no fee) and complete required repairs PRIOR to issuance of building permit. The repairs must be inspected and approved by the Sanitation Inspector before the Building Permit will be issued. OR • Resubmit plans including sufficient layout, details, and specifications for the contractor to repair the sewer lateral in accordance with the County’s issued repair requirements. The repairs must be inspected and approved by the Sanitation Inspector before the County will issue final approval of the project.
3. Please revise plans to show the sewer lateral material and slope conforming with SCCDC Fig. SS-11 (SDR26 with appropriate depth of cover is typical in a public right of way).
