Building Review

Review No:1
1. Please include a building code legend on the cover sheet of the drawings to include occupancy classification, type of construction, building area, and fire sprinkler status.
2. Provide an exiting plan with dimensions of all exit ways and clearances at exit doors. Include exit signage and exit lighting. CBC 1006, 1013
3. Please provide CA Energy Compliance forms for lighting on the drawings. Revise the corresponding plans to show compliance.
CA Energy Code Section 140.6(a) requires the total watts of all permanent and portable lighting systems be used to calculate the actual indoor lighting power. However, Section 140.6(a)3G excludes the lighting wattage of grow lights if they are controlled by a multi-level astronomical time-switch control.
The multi-level astronomical time-switch control must be listed in the Appliance Efficiency Database.
Grow lights are still subject to the applicable mandatory indoor lighting requirements, including: General lighting (Section 130.0), Indoor lighting controls (Section 130.1), Acceptance testing and installation certificates (Section 130.4)

1. (see previous plan review comment 1) Please include a building code legend on the cover sheet of the drawings to include occupancy classification, type of construction, building area, and fire sprinkler status.
2. The revised plans are not signed by the responsible electrical engineer on Sheets E000 through TE00. Please submit signed plans. ยง5536.1, 5537, 6735 California Business and Profession Code
3. There are plans submitted that were originally submitted for a building permit application that was withdrawn on 10/7/21. Please remove these plans from the submittal or revise them to correspond with the E000 through TE00 plans submitted under this permit application. The electrical plans for the earlier submittal should be removed, as there is a different electrical engineer with this permit submittal who has prepared their own plans.

1. The occupancy classification of the building still needs to be stated on the cover sheet of the drawings. If CO2 enrichment, extraction, trimming, bagging or other processing is to take place in this building, the occupancy will be an F-1. If the building is limited to plant growth with grow lights, dehumidifiers, and fans, this may be a U occupancy. Notes should be added to clarify the use. It does not seem possible to allow an unsprinklered F-1 occupancy of Type IIB construction, given the size of the building.
2. The last submittal did not include Sheets A-2, A-4, and A-5. Please include these sheets in the next submittal. Complete plans are required for permit issuance.
Please be advised that if plan check comments are required to be addressed leading to a 3rd plan check, additional charges will be added to your permit fee at an hourly rate.
