Review No:1- The proposed 190 gallon double walled diesel electrical generator will require a hazardous materials permit.
- Prior to operation you will need to obtain a hazardous materials permit for the emergency generator. To obtain the permit you must first submit the appropriate documentation to the California Environmental Reporting System (CERS) at https://cers.calepa.ca.gov/.
- An initial inspection of the hazardous materials storage must be conducted by an Environmental Health Division (EHD) hazardous materials inspector.
- Following the initial inspection, the CERS submittal must be accepted by our agency, permit fees determined based on the inspection and the CERS submittal, and then hazardous materials permit obtain once hazardous materials permit fees are paid.
- Other requirements for the 190 gallon double walled electrical generator.
- In accordance with SCCC 7.100.220, simplified emergency procedures shall be conspicuously posted in locations where hazardous materials are stored and used (i.e., the location of the emergency diesel generator). Provide documentation of simplified emergency procedures to be posted at the emergency generator to EHD.
- In accordance with SCCC 7.100.200, access to the emergency generator fuel shall be kept securely locked when unattended. It is unclear if the existing wood fence (sheet A-3) circles the hazardous materials storage area and if there is an access point that can be locked. Provide documentation of locking mechanism to EHD.
