- Accessibility Comment - Sheet A3.0 - Details 4, 5, & 6 - Coordinate all dimensions shown in these details with those shown on sheet A0.1, including the toilet seat height (shall be shown as 17'-19"), the toilet paper dispenser (shall be shown as 7"-9"), the grab bar height (shall be shown as 33"-36"), etc. [2022 CBC 11B-603]
- Detail 4/A0.1: Detectable warnings may not be located within the accessible parking space access aisle as currently shown. Please revise plans/detail accordingly. [CBC 11B-502.4]
- Detail 8/A0.1: For the all gender signage, please specify that the circumscribed triangle shall be of a contrasting color to that of the circle. [CBC 11B-703.7.2.6.3]
- Sheet A0.3, A1.0: It does not appear that Door D3 at the accessible toilet room will provide the minimum clear width of 32” in accordance with CBC 11B-404.2.3. Currently the door is specified to have a width of 2’-10”. Typically a minimum 3’-0” wide door is required to meet accessible clear width, measured between the face of the door and the stop with the door in a 90-degree open position.
- Sheet A1.0: Please provide minimum 18” strike edge clearance at the pull side of Door D1 at the Kitchen. [CBC 11B-404.2.4.1]
- Mechanical plan sheet M0, in the Cal Green Notes box please upgrade section 5.504.5.3 to recent code cycle to require MERV 13 filters in lieu of MERV 8 indicated.
- Please provide all components and details of the refrigeration systems on plans. [2022 CMC sec.1101.1] Please show location of refrigeration condensing unit(s) serving the walk in cooler/freezer on plan. Show floor drains and condensate drainage on the plumbing plans as applicable.
- A Performance Test shall be conducted upon completion and before approval of a ventilation system serving commercial cooking appliances. The test shall verify the exhaust airflow rate in accordance with sections 508.10.1.2 thru 508.10.1.5 or the airflow rate stamped on listed hood. Please add note to plan. [2022 CMC sec. 511.2.2.1]
- The permit holder shall verify a capture and containment performance of the hood. A field test shall be performed with cooking equipment at normal operating temperature and capture and containment shall be verified through a visual observation of smoke or steam produced by smoke candles or puffers. Smoke bombs are prohibited from use on this test. Please add note to plan. [2022 CMC sec. 511.2.2.2]
- Prior to the use of or concealment of a grease duct system, a leakage test shall be performed to determine that welded joints and seams are liquid tight. The leakage test shall consist of a light test, water pressure test, or an approved equivalent test. The permit holder shall be responsible for providing the necessary equipment and for performing the test. Such test shall be conducted in accordance with ASHRAE 154. [2022 CMC sec. 510.5.6] Please add note to plan.
- Please provide duct materials and gauges for the Kitchen make up air ducting and the new Supply air ducting shown on the plan. [2022 CMC Ch. 6]
- The wall construction behind where the Type I hood is to be hung must be a minimum of limited combustible construction to achieve the 3” clearance to limited construction required by the grease exhaust hood manufacturer. [2022 CMC sec. 507.4] Limited construction is described as a steel stud wall with ½” drywall on both sides as per NFPA 96 4.2.1. Please verify on plan the existing wall where the Type I hood is to be attached is of Limited Comustible Construction.
- Plans show a steam table (equipment EQ8 in schedule on Sheet A1.0) that is not located underneath an exhaust hood. Type II hoods shall be installed above equipment and dishwashers that generate steam, heat, or products of combustion, and where grease or smoke is not present. [CMC 519.1]
- Sheet M1, Mechanical Floor Plan - HVAC: Please show location of the return air grille on the mechanical plan. Return air may not be taken from the locations listed in CMC 311.3.
- Sheet M1, Roof Mechanical Plan: Show that the termination of the new bathroom exhaust duct is located a minimum of 10 feet from the outdoor air intake at RTU/G4. [CMC 502.2.1]
- Provide structural calculations and details for support and anchorage of new rooftop exhaust fan, MAU, and for kitchen hood. Show the supporting structure checked for the additional dead load and for anchorage forces. The supports for the hood shall be designed to support the weight of the hood plus 800 lbs. [ASCE 7 Chapter 13; CMC 508.4]
- Sheet P0.1: Please revise the General Plumbing Notes and footnotes at water supply and gas supply calculation tables to reference 2022 CPC.
- Sheet P0.1, P1.2: The ¾” gas piping branch serving the Stove appears to be undersized. Capacity is 117 cfh per CPC Table 1215.2(1) (longest length = 80 ft.).
- Sheet P0.2: Please provide a completed 2022 CEnC NRCC-PLB energy compliance form on the plans. The form currently provided is for 2016 CEnC.
- Sheet P1.1: Pot sinks, scullery sinks, dishwashing sinks, silverware sinks, and other similar fixtures shall be connected directly to the drainage system. A floor drain shall be provided adjacent to the fixture and shall be connected on the sewer side of the sink. No other drainage line shall be connected between the floor drain waste connection and the fixture drain. The fixture and floor drain shall be trapped and vented in accordance with this code. [CPC 704.3]
- Sheet P1.1: Show floors sloped to the floor drains at the commercial kitchen. [CPC 418.5]
- Electrical Comment - Sheet A1.1 - This sheet conflicts with / is not in full agreement with the electrical plan shown on sheet E1.
- Electrical Comment - Sheet A2.0 - This sheet conflicts with / is not in full agreement with the electrical plan shown on sheet E1.
