We have reviewed plans for the above subject project and
unfortunately, THE PLANS HAVE BEEN DENIED.
Please have the DESIGNER add appropriate NOTES and
DETAILS showing this information and RESUBMIT plans, VIA COUNTY, with an annotated copy of this letter.
SHOW on the plans the
dimensions of the driveway, including length, width, and slopes.
The FIRE FLOW requirement for the subject property is
1000 gallons per minute for 120 minutes.
NOTE on the plans the REQUIRED and AVAILABLE FIRE FLOW. The AVAILABLE FIRE FLOW information can be
obtained from the water company.
SHOW on the plans a
public fire hydrant, type and location, meeting the minimum required fire flow
for the building, within 600 feet of any portion of the building.
NOTE on the plans
that the building shall be protected by an approved automatic sprinkler system
complying with the edition of NFPA 13D currently adopted in Chapter 35 of the California
Building Code.
NOTE on the plans
that the designer/installer shall submit two (2) sets of plans, calculations,
and cut sheets for the underground and overhead Residential Automatic Sprinkler
System to this agency for approval.
Installation shall follow our guide sheet. Cut sheets shall include, but not limited to
piping, valves, gauges, and sprinkler heads.
CORRECT on the plans,
sheet A1, Fire Notes - that a 100-foot clearance will be maintained with
non-combustible vegetation around all structures.

Fire District fees must be paid, and a
receipt for District fees must be presented to the ?County
Planning Department or ?City of Capitola before Building Permit
issuance.
Upon completion
of the above listed requirements, please call the Community Risk Reduction
Division to set up an appointment for an inspection. You will be asked for an
address and/or Assessors’ Parcel Number (APN). A minimum of 48 hours’ notice to
the Fire District is required prior to inspection. The job copies of the
building and fire system plans/permits must be on-site during inspection.
