2. The following County form will need to completed by your project geotechnical engineer: Consultant Plan Review Form (PLG-300). Please submit the completed form on the next routing. NOTE: Please make sure your geotechnical engineer is provided all pertinent plan sheets with the latest revision dates for their review. 3. Please have your project civil engineer (C2G) add the following information to their plan sheet(s): A. Limits of grading. B. Provide grading volumes (cubic yards). Include overexcavation/recompaction earthwork, including lateral extents, as a separate line item in their earthwork volume chart. Subject: Review of the Geotechnical Investigation for the Proposed Single-Family Residence, Cherryvale Avenue, Soquel/APN 104-101-42, Santa Cruz County, CA report dated 25 October 2021; and the Update to our Geotechnical Investigation, Dated 25 October 2021 dated 31 May 2023 by Dees and Associates, Inc. - Project No. SCR-1684 Project Site: No Situs Address (off Cherryvale Avenue) APN 104-101-42 Application No. APP-231030 The Planning Department has not accepted the project site geotechnical investigation update report for the following reason: 1. The subject report Update to our Geotechnical Investigation, Dated 25 October 2021 dated 31 May 2023 presents seismic design parameters from the ASCE 7-22; and states either the ASCE 7-16 or the ASCE 7-22 may be used in project structural design. The ASCE 7-16 with three supplements was incorporated into the current 2022 California Building Code. The ASCE 7-22 was not incorporated into the 2022 California Building Code and should not be referenced. Please request your geotechnical engineer revise the subject geotechnical update report accordingly. Electronic copies of all forms required to be completed by the Geotechnical Engineer may be found on our website: www.sccoplanning.com, under “Environmental”, “Geology & Soils”, and “Assistance & Forms”. After building permit issuance the soils engineer must remain involved with the project during construction. Please review the Notice to Permits Holders (attached). Our acceptance of the report is limited to its technical content. Other project issues such as zoning, fire safety, septic or sewer approval, etc. may require resolution by other agencies. Please note that this determination may be appealed within 14 calendar days of the date of service. The following items shall be required: 1.All project design and construction shall comply with the recommendations of the project site report; 2.Final plans shall reference the report by title, author, and date. Final Plans should also include a statement that the project shall conform to the report’s recommendations; 3.After plans are prepared that are acceptable to all reviewing agencies, please submit a completed Soils (Geotechnical) Engineer Plan Review Form (PLG-305) to Environmental Planning. The author of the soils report shall sign and stamp the completed form. Please note that the plan review form must reference the final plan set by the last revision date; and 4.As outlined in the subject geotechnical investigation report, the proposed foundation system requires engineered fill to be utilized beneath the foundation elements to provide structural support. A Grading Permit will be required for the proposed project. A preconstruction meeting is also required prior to any ground disturbance.
