We have reviewed plans for the above subject project and unfortunately,THE PLANS HAVE BEEN DENIED.
Please have the DESIGNER add appropriate NOTES and DETAILS showing this information andRESUBMIT plans, VIA COUNTY, with an annotated copy of this letter.
CORRECT on the plans, sheet GN-1, Fire Department Requirements:
· Note #1 – correct the code cycle from the 2019 to the 2022 code cycle andCentral Fire District amendments. · Note #2– correct the authority having jurisdiction from the San Jose Fire Department to the Central Fire District of Santa Cruz County. · Note #6– correct the required distance from the parcel from 250 feet to 400 feet from the hydrant to the furthest part of the proposed structure, for a sprinklered dwelling. · Note #10– correct fire access requirement from 200 feet to 150 feet from the public road to the furthest part of the proposed dwelling.
SHOW on the plan, the FIRE FLOW requirement for the subject property is 1000 gallons per minute for 120 minutes. NOTE on the plans the REQUIRED and AVAILABLE FIRE FLOW. The AVAILABLE FIRE FLOW information can be obtained from the Soquel Creek Water District.
NOTE on the plans that the designer/installer shall submit two (2) sets of plans, calculations, and cut sheets for the underground and overhead Residential Automatic Sprinkler System to this agency for approval. Installation shall follow our guide sheet. Cut sheets shall include, but not limited to piping, valves, gauges, and sprinkler heads.
NOTE on the plans that a 30-foot clearance will be maintained with non-combustible vegetation around all structures.
NOTE on the plan that job copies of the approved plans shall be on site for all inspections.

to set up an appointment for an inspection. You will be asked for an address
and/or Assessors’ Parcel Number (APN). A minimum of 48 hours’ notice to the
Fire District is required prior to inspection. The job copies of the building
and fire system plans/permits must be on-site during inspection.
