Review No:2Second Plan Review
1. Please provide a cost of installing a ramp to comply with accessibility to the restroom and breakroom areas, as an alternate to installing a lift. The minimum ramp length would be 14 ft., excluding landings, based on a 14" difference in elevations. A 6' long landing at the bottom of the ramp would be needed.
2. Plans specify a van accessible space, at least note a sign that says "van" to imply there is a van accessible space. However, the minimum unloading/loading aisle required for a van accessible space is 8 feet. If there is another parking space in the lot that serves this shopping area that complies with van access, then a 5 ft. minimum aisle is sufficient. (CBC 1129B)
Correction notes redlined on plans:
-Accessible merchant counter area to be minimum 36" wide, with counter height 28" to 34" high per CBC 1122B.
-80" clearance to the underside of parking signage per CBC 1129B.4.
