              County Administrative Officer, including supplemental budget
              recommendation; with additional directives for reports back
              on the last day of budget hearings regarding
              recommendations for an extra two percent Cost of Living
              increase to be used by Community Programs, in whatever
              way possible, for employee raises; request for $120,000 for
              Latino Equity funding; addition of the Doran Resource Center
              for the Blind as a potential recipient of funding; and further
              directed the Human Resources Agency to look at the criteria
              used for making recommendations regarding Latino Equity
              funding and provide an update regarding the Seniors Council

              of welfare reform on fraud investigations

              funding; and further directed on August 11, 1998 the Board
              consider the formation of a task force to be convened by the
              County Administrative Office consisting of representatives
              from the Health Services Agency, Probation, Human
              Resources Agency and The Courts, and one or two Board
              Members, to coordinate and assist in the planning, design
              and implementation of this program to establish wrap around
              services for adolescents with hard drug problems; and further
              directed report backs regarding Drug and Alcohol Prevention
              program detail especially related to Friday Night Live and
              public health prevention issues

          4.  AS THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE LIVE
              OAK/SOQUEL REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY, public hearing
              held on the Proposed Budget for the Live Oak/Soquel
              Redevelopment Agency;
              closed the public hearing and continued action on this matter
              to the Redevelopment Agency budget

          5.  The Board of Supervisors recessed in order to permit the
              Board of Directors of the County of Santa Cruz Flood Control
              and Water Conservation District, Zone 5, to convene and
              carry out its regularly scheduled meeting, including
              consideration of the 1998/99 budget
