A quorum is one more than one half of the appointed members.  We have 23 appointed members right now.  A quorum is 12.

 

Additional NOTE:

 

The DVC shall:  "establish a committee from among its membership, with the addition of a representative of the office of the Santa Cruz County Counsel, as specified by Penal Code Section 853.6(a) to develop protocols for use by law enforcement officers and recommend the adoption of said protocols to the board of supervisors. (ord. 4329 section 1 (part), 1994)".

DVC By-Laws

Section G.  REMOVAL

 

 

 

G.        REMOVAL: Any Commission or committee member may be removed from office by a four-fifths vote of the Board of Supervisors favoring such removal. 

 

1.                 The absence of any member from three consecutive regular meetings without good cause shall require the question of removal of that member to be placed on the agenda of the next regularly scheduled meeting. Good cause is defined as a personal or family health issue, family emergency or out-of-town.

 

2.                  Written notice of this agenda item shall be given by the Chair to the member and the organization of government office the member represents.

 

3.                  Removal of a Commission member shall be by majority vote of eligible voting Commission members.
