SPECIAL MEETING: APRIL 2007 RETREAT

Our Mission Statement:

Through collaborative efforts, the Commission develops and recommends education, prevention, and intervention policies that hold batterers accountable and ensure safety and support for victims including children and survivors.

1.     Networking Time:

        Review meeting materials, talk with your colleagues.

 

2.     Call to Order and Roll Call:  Introduction of Members.

        Introductions to include your role in your agency

 

3.     Additions or Deletions to Agenda.

 

4.     Review Goals and Actions Plans created at 2006 Retreat.

        (by SubCommittee)

 

5.     Meet in Subcommittee or task force groups.

 

6.      Report to Group from each Committee or Task Force on progress.  (Meal during this time)

                 

7.      Create new Action Plans and Goals for coming year. 

 

8.      Adjournment. 


 

 

 

Note:

 

The Commission has 28 seats, 6 of which are vacant:

 

                                Watsonville Community Hospital

                                Women's Commission

                                Women's Crisis

                                GLBT (at large)

                                Latino (at large)

                                Survivor (at large)

 

A quorum is one more than one half of the appointed members.  We have 22 appointed members right now.  A quorum is 12.

 

Additional NOTE:

 

The DVC shall:  "establish a committee from among its membership, with the addition of a representative of the office of the Santa Cruz County Counsel, as specified by Penal Code Section 853.6(a) to develop protocols for use by law enforcement officers and recommend the adoption of said protocols to the board of supervisors. (ord. 4329 section 1 (part), 1994)".
