Meeting Minutes

1. Meeting Date: January 11, 2006

2. Committee Members present:

Alan Hiromura, Susan Rozario, Joanne De Los Reyes, Patty King, Kristie Clemens, Greg Coleman, Jean Jordan, and Lily Heredia

3. Additions or Deletions to Agenda:

None

4. Oral Communications from the Community:

None

5. Approve minutes from December 14, 2005 meeting. Motion made by

Joanne De Los Reyes, duly seconded by Alan Hiromura, to approve. Motion

carried by those present.

6. Reviewed cover designs for the 2005 Report to the Community

Comments were made as follows:

Dark Option

Too dark. Maybe the black can change to a light gray and a darker gray. Most hand in light gray, accent hand should be red in either or yellow. Can we do both? We also needed to add in "Hands Are Not for Hitting".

Light Option

Too cheery. Everyone did not like the middle block with DVC etc. We also needed to add in "Hands Are Not for Hitting".

Last Year's with modifications

Last year's cover with hands in the background of yellow portion of the cover (like a watermark). Or instead of the face with a tear, replace it with a small picture of the mural with the "Hands Are Not for Hitting".

7. Discussed issues related to the verification of statistics, review of trends and

final draft reports from the various agencies.

Probation made modifications to their portion and included new statistics.

It was also discussed that explanations need to be included regarding statistic changes of 10% or greater to each section of the DV annual report.

8. Discussed advocacy agency questionnaire questions that need to be changed. (See attachment).

9. Funding for the 2005 Report – this will be discussed at a future meeting.

10. The meeting was adjourned at approximately 1 p.m.

The next meeting is scheduled for February 8, 2006 at 12:15 in the CAO Conference Room #520.
