- Additions
or Deletions to the Agenda

None.
- Approval
of the September 18, 2002
minutes.
Unanimously approved (Rabow/Austin) with 2 changes:
1. We are not asking for the length of time between
conviction and enrollment. 2. We are recording both DV incidents and arrests.
- Review
findings regarding computer program/template for data input
Recommendation: Report back from Hiromura and McWhorter. Take action as
appropriate.
Hiromura talked with a technician at the County who suggested the
following:
Use the computer program Access.
Put questions into a spreadsheet format for the programmer.
Create an on-line program to collect data so we don’t have to re-input.
Hold off on implementing the on-line program until the glitches of the
questions are worked out, as it is expensive to change the on-line
program. Wait at least one year.
The on-line program will cost money
The county probably has someone who can do the Access part.
McWhorter talked with Nancy Goodman of What Works! and reported:
If our survey is close enough to the goals of What Works!’s goals we could
use their money for our programming costs. Some of the money would come
out of money already budgeted towards programming. More money might be
needed and come from the “stipend money” (which Austin remarked law
enforcement might be counting on in order to calculate the requested
data). Our committee will meet with
Erica Wood and Hope Malkum of ASR and Nancy Goodman of What Works!
sometime after October 9.
Rabow stressed the need to be able to pull/sort any combination of data
from the computer program in order to make the data useful.
- Review
and revise questions created by committee members. Complete questions Task
2. G and I and any other rising questions.
Recommendation: That committee members edited the questions for
the Batterers, Death Review Team, and Victims/Survivors. The writers of
those questions will make the changes.
Hiromura showed the spreadsheet
template he developed. He will insert the final set of questions into the
spreadsheet.
