SECTION 302 - VEHICLE ACCIDENT REVIEW

 

      A.    Risk Management Responsibilities

 

            1. The Risk Management Division will, on a monthly basis, review all  reported vehicle accidents involving a County vehicle or a personal vehicle  while used  for County business.

 

            2.      The facts pertaining to each accident shall be listed by Risk Management in a written accident summary report for each involved department. Fault will not be determined.

 

            3.      Risk management will provide a summary report of all accidents to the County Administrative Officer for review. Risk Management  will prepare an individual department report and meet with appropriate  Department Heads or  their  appointed representative,  to  discuss each accident.

 

      B.    Department Health Responsibilities

 

            1.      Within 30 days following each meeting above, the Department Head will advise the Risk Management Division of any action taken regarding the employee.

 

            2. Department Heads will assume responsibility for any disciplinary procedures.
