SECTION 305– EMPLOYEE
VANPOOL
A.
General
General
Services administers the Employee Vanpool program as part of the Santa Cruz
County Transportation Reduction Incentive Program (TRIP). Employee vanpools are
for employees to commute between pre-designated pickup points located
throughout the county and the County Government Center at 701 Ocean Street
and/or the County Emeline Campus.
B.
Employee Participants
General
Services Fleet Division shall manage the eligibility and participant
application process.
To
participate in the County Vanpool program, an employee must submit a signed
Vanpool Participant Agreement to the General Services Fleet Manager for review
and approval.
A
per pay period fee is collected through payroll deductions for all
participants. The fee is set forth in the Unified Fee Schedule.
If
at any time the vanpools are full, a waiting list shall be established and
maintained, and any employee applicant that is approved will be placed on the
waiting list. When a space becomes available the employee at the top of the list
will be notified and their eligibility confirmed.
Continuation
of the Vanpool Program will be determined by the cost of operations and
replacement of the program vehicles. Vanpool fees may be adjusted if necessary
to cover increased costs. Vanpool participants will be notified as much in
advance as possible of any increase in employee vanpool fees.
The
County may terminate any vanpool without prior notice to participants. In the
event of termination, the County will make every effort to give as much notice
as possible to program participants. The County shall have no obligation to
provide another van or other means of transportation.
