SECTION 800 - NOTIFICATION OF LOCAL CONTRACTORS

 

The following policy and procedure are to be used for notification of local firms, including architects, civil engineers, construction contractors, planning consultants, surveyors, and similar professional contractors, of the County's intention to enter into a contract for services in excess of $10,000:

 

            1.  The Directors of General Services, Parks, Open Space and Cultural Services, Planning and Public Works shall be responsible for maintaining a current file, open for public inspection and updated on a biyearly basis, of all qualified local firms/consultants in the various professional service categories. The assistance of local professional organizations and individuals shall be sought for the maintenance and updating of the files.

 

            2.   Prior to engaging any professional firm or consultant in the various professional service categories, the appropriate director shall, as a minimum, notify each local firm and consultant on file in the relevant professional service category in writing of:

 

                  a.    The general description of the scope of work desired;

 

                  b.    The anticipated   project schedule, including critical dates and deadlines;

 

                  c.    Reporting requirements and a brief description of anticipated final work products;

 

                  d.    Requirements for proposal content, submittal date, and  an  outline  of  the  proposal  review procedure; and

 

                  e.    Such other information as  is appropriate to  the procurement.
