1. Briefly describe any progress and/or successes your CORE program achieved implementing its activities during FY 2023-2024. (Recommended 2-4 sentences)	This fiscal year, we have been successful in reaching more people we were hoping to serve through this grant. Through our efforts to create more partnerships with other local organizations, we reached more Latinx students and Spanish speaking parents. This has enabled us to schedule more of our Ending the Silence presentations with a higher guaranteed number of attendees. We are also increasing the number of parents and youth served through our ETS program by training more presenters. We have also successfully implemented and expanded our Spanish Peer Support program by reaching more individuals who identify as peers. We heard from our Spanish- speaking participants that they prefer in-person services, so we have increased in-person support through our classes to make it more accessible to Spanish-speaking participants. Please state the specific activity that was provided and the impact or positive change that occurred as a result of the service(s) provided. *Please make sure to change any identifying information, such as names.*	A mother of a daughter with a mental health condition took our Family to Family class in Spanish in Spring 2024 (Familia a Familia). She said, “Ahora entiendo por lo que mi hija esta viviendo, me estoy educando para apoyarla se que no estoy sola y que si hay recursos para ella y para mi para ayudarla. Gracias a esta clase aprendi lo que no sabia y tengo confianza en que poder ayudarla a superar su condición.” Translation: “Now I understand what my daughter is going through, I am educating myself to support her, I know that I am not alone and that there are resources for her and me to help her. Thanks to this class I learned what I didn't know and I am confident that I can help her overcome her condition.”
3. Please describe any challenges your agency experienced in implementing its CORE funded program.	We have encountered the challenge of getting a satisfying number of attendees at our ETS presentations for Parents in Spanish at schools. Some parents have expressed that it can be difficult to find time in the evenings to attend presentations. To address this challenge, we have been fostering partnerships with other local organizations to connect with the Spanish-speaking parents they serve as well. We also sometimes face the challenge of finding a teacher to cover a NAMI SCC class when our teachers are not feeling well and can no longer teach a class. To address this issue, we have identified potential backup teachers to train. This field is required

5. If you answered yes, what challenges did you experience? (Recommended 2-4 sentences)	It can be difficult to get our online classes and ETS presentation participants to fill out our survey. To address this issue, we created a QR code and added it to the last slide of our ETS presentation. This way, participants can fill out the survey right then rather than when it would be sent to them at a later time. We also found that we often need to help class participants understand the survey questions. We now complete class surveys together during class time at the second to last class session.

7. During FY 2023-2024, did your CORE program staff participate in a CORE Institute event (e.g., Coffee Chats or Conversations)?	Yes No This field is required
8. During FY 2023-2024, how did your CORE program engage its staff on issues of equity?	This year, we partnered with the Diversity Center Santa Cruz to provide staff training and present at one of our public speaker meetings. The speaker meeting was held in November 2023 and educated staff and the general public on LGBTQIA+ mental health. In February 2024, a representative from the Diversity Center hosted a staff training about promoting inclusivity and respect. This included content regarding fostering a welcoming, respectful and inclusive environment for all marginalized communities so we can serve as many people as possible. Further, all full-time NAMISCC staff have been trained in Radical Transformational Leadership, provided by Impact Launch. This training helps ensure equity and inclusion are foundational factors in the implementation process through accessing values and reaching toward shifting systemic change. Staff are continuously attending refresher courses on this material and are encouraged to use the framework in all aspects of their role. This field is required
9. In the CORE RFP, your program indicated an equity issue your program would address. How has your program impacted this equity issue in FY 2023-2024?	This fiscal year, NAMISCC implemented new strategies to increase equitable access to and utilization of mental health care in our community for Latinx individuals and families. In response to feedback from Latinx community members in Watsonville, we increased our in-person services in the area. For instance, our organization moved our office from Santa Cruz to Watsonville. With this new south county office space, we began to offer bilingual walk-in hours in which community members can receive in-person, immediate assistance with enrolling in our bilingual classes and also connect them with other needed resources within NAMISCC and beyond. Further, we began to offer our Spanish Family to Family class (Familia a Familia) in-person in our new office in Watsonville. We are working towards offering more of our classes in-person. Through our CORE-funded in-person and virtual classes and presentations in Spanish, we were able to make an impact on the Latinx community in our county through education, resources, and support. 90% of Spanish-speaking class participants who were surveyed agreed that as a result of the class, they can recognize the signs and symptoms of mental health conditio This field is required
