Completed Work:	Rip Rap & Rubble Removal, new Stairway #1 at 32nd Ave, replacement Stairway #2 at 36th Ave, replacement Stairway #3 at The Hook and bluff walls with shotcrete sculpting and staining.

LIVE OAK RESOURCE CENTER PROJECT

This new facility is being built as a model project for the co-location of compatible non-profit human services organizations in a County-owned building. This will provide these non-profits with a stable base upon which to build their operations; delivering service directly to the local community. The tenant agencies will be the Live Oak Family Resource Center (part of Community Bridges) and the headquarters of the Volunteer Centers of Santa Cruz County.

Project Location:	1740 17th Avenue, just north of Capitola Road, across from Ferrell's Donuts.

Architect:	Jacquie Low, of Boone Low Ratliff Architects, Santa Cruz

Lead Agency:	Redevelopment Agency, in cooperation with the Human Services Department.

Project Manager:	Robert Hambelton Redevelopment Agency

Project Data:	This is a new 7,400 square foot two-story light frame building on a 3/4 acre site. Green building features include a goal of 20% recycled material, 45% locally produced material, solar electricity generation, low VOC emission materials, shared parking and community facilities, efficient insulation, lighting, and heating systems; and openable windows, completely eliminating the need for air conditioning.

Completion Date:	December 2010

Completed Work:	Rough grading and compaction, foundations, steel and wood framing, in-floor hot water heating systems, the concrete slab, rough framing, electrical, and plumbing, roofing, siding, interior finishes, painting, paving and landscaping..

Current Work Activities:	Flooring, art installation, and final touchup.

SOQUEL AVENUE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
Project Location:	Soquel Avenue (between Soquel Dr. and 17th Ave.), Live Oak

Project Description:	Roadway and roadside improvements include a second westbound travel lane between Highway 1 on/off ramps and 17th Avenue and sidewalks, bike lanes, curbs, gutters and drainage improvements along the south side of Soquel Avenue. The project also includes new street trees and landscaping for this "gateway" to Live Oak.
Completion Date:	June 2011
Completed Work:	PG&E, Cable & AT&T relocated existing utilities including in-ground boxes, poles and some overhead wires to accommodate project, roadside improvements with sidewalk, curb and gutter, and drainage improvements along the south side of the road, landscape bulb-outs and other improvements, road paving and striping.
